Rural ministry brings both challenges and joys. If you’ve been feeling some of those challenges or wondering how to navigate them, this conference is for you! You will hear from veterans in rural ministry and glean wisdom and encouragement from other pastors and ministry leaders.
This conference is hosted by Village Missions as part of our goal to help country churches thrive.

Jon Hansen and his wife, Debbie, have served with Village Missions since 1996. The first 14 years were spent serving on Village Missions fields in Nebraska and Kansas. Then, for 10 years (2010-2019), Jon and his wife served as the District Representatives for the Mountain Central District, which included North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming and eastern Montana. Jon began serving as the Assistant Director on January 1, 2020.

Straining at the Horizon: Equipping the Local Church to Reach the Global Community
Chuck and Connie Mathias have been on the mission field since 2003. They served in India for around 11 years. In 2014, God led them in a new direction. They live in LaGrange, Wyoming, where they teach at Frontier School of the Bible and work on an exciting project for Tentmakers Bible Mission at the home office. Chuck is the Director of International Training Development.

Engaging the Diverse Culture of Your Community with the Gospel
Rev. Timothy Chally is the Executive Director of Rockies Southwest Bible Church Extension (RSBCE), a church planting and revitalization ministry of IFCA International. Tim has served in a variety of church ministry positions in Illinois over the past 30 years: youth pastor, associate pastor, biblical counselor, and worship pastor. He has been the Director of RSBCE for 3 years. Tim also worked for over 30 years in Information Technology for an international company. He is a graduate of Calvary University in Kansas City, MO.
Tim and his bride, Nancy, live in Castle Rock, CO. They are thrilled to serve the Lord in church ministry in the states of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah.
Tim and Nancy enjoy traveling, reading, fishing, music, and ministering to pastors in small churches. The Challys praise the Lord for the blessings of 5 children and 15 grandchildren.
Chad Johnson

Creating a Culture of Evangelism inside the Church
Chad Johnson is the Lead Pastor at Fellowship Bible Church in Lindon, UT. Chad grew up in a small rural town outside of Duluth, MN. He graduated from Frontier School of the Bible in 2003 and pastored in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan before moving to Utah in 2013. He became the lead pastor at FBC in 2015.
Here are a few of his favorite things: Spending time with his family (his wife, Sarah, and their six children), golfing, coffee, peanut butter, watching sports (an avid Minnesota sports fan), chocolate, and chicken wings.
